The journey from present to future is never a straight road. No matter how far and how fast you travel you will always be distracted by the scenery around you. To guide you all on this odyssey, co-pilots Andrew Spackman (SAD MAN, The Dark Jazz Project, Nimzo-Indian) and Richard Davies invite you into a car from the future. A sleek automobile designed to entertain, intercept and bring you up to speed in the enlightened way. This music is from the future and is brought to you by Cars from the Future.

In June 2023 a mutual friend and DJ, Colin Spencer, (www.mixcloud.com/ColinSpencer/) contacted both Andrew and Richard to say he thought that the two of them might be interested in collaborating on some new music. And so the project, “Cars from the Future” was born.

Over an intensive 6 week period Andrew Spackman (SAD MAN, The Dark Jazz Project) sent tracks to Richard and in response, Richard (Richard Davies) recorded exquisite saxophone lines and melodies, both invoking the mood and energy of these electronic tracks, as well as inspiring Andrew to rework and reshape the music even further.

The result is 9 tracks where the saxophone is in perfect balance with electronics, but still feels surprising and fresh, taking unexpected twists and turns and remaining the pulsating soul that sits at the centre.
